The other day I saw an amazing sight. In the sky there appeared a hole. Little by
little it, like a window opening into the world. From it, there seemed to peer an
all-knowing and loving Eye. It looked out upon the world and saw us all in our entirety.
This Eye looked and saw all the pain and suffering in the world, and I asked myself,
"Why, would He take one who has tried to ease the sorrows of mankind, when
there is so much that needs to be done?"
At that moment it occurred to me that maybe it was time for her own pain to end. She
had done her part and it was time for rest, for peace. He was calling one of his
favorite children home to be with him.
Then the question came to me, " Why put her through everything she has gone through
and then take her now?"
In response, seemingly, to my question a few drops of water fell from the hole, looking
much like tears. Where they landed roses shot up to fill the world with their beauty and
to comfort any that might see them. And then the answer came to me, so she could
spread her love and peace to the rest of us for just a little bit longer.
Then I asked myself, " Why does this hurt those left behind so much?"
And I came to a conclusion; a truth known to myself that should be shared. We
weep not for her, who has gone to be with the One who she loved so much and devoted her
life to, but for our selves and our loss.
But not I, for tonight I celebrate, because I know that this night a new angel walks
with Him and that a new star shines in Heaven, and down on all of us with love.
