I wanted to say one thing about your son, Jason's card. The story below the drawing reminded me of a story a woman told after she had lost her husband.
She was grieving and could not get past her sense of loss... She prayed but it
didn't seem to help right then...
One day, she was on a boat and as she
sat on a bench on the deck, she watched the seagulls flying over the boat... One seagull
in particular caught her attention and she watched him soar higher and higher until he was
just a speck in the sky...
He flew so high that he disappeared into the clouds... Just then, it hit her that even
though she no longer could see the seagull, he was still flying and soaring above the
clouds...
He was free, happy and still going on... She took this as an answer from God that her
husband too was free, happy and alive though she could not see him right then..
.
He was just as keenly aware of their love and their connection to one another as he always
had been...
She felt such a sense of release from her grief and was comforted... They were not
separated from each other at all, and this bond of love is one we all have with each other
whether we realize it or not...Nothing can ever separate it or change it.
It is the infinite love and everpresence of God that keeps us all together no matter what
the situation and under all circumstances...
